The mountain ranges in Colorado don’t normally lend themselves to allowing great sunsets – the setting sun often goes into a cloud bank on a ridge or mountain in the distance. Many times, I have waited for the sun to go down in a promising pattern of clouds, only to see the sun go behind heavy clouds in the distance, making the whole sky turn grey. I didn’t get that picture, but the thrill of anticipation was enough…So I take my dog for a walk and plan to get lucky some other day. This photograph was taken by the side of the road on US50 by Blue Mesa in the Winter on a ski trip to Telluride…
